Vault Docs
Privacy Policy

Effective July 22, 2026

This policy explains how Vault Docs handles information. Vault Docs is operated independently under the name kRicha.

01

Overview

Vault Docs is an independent document organizer for iPhone and iPad.

The short version

  • Documents stay on your device by default.
  • Optional iCloud Sync stores encrypted private copies in your personal iCloud database.
  • Vault Docs does not require a separate account.

02

Documents and app data

Vault Docs processes files you choose to import or capture, document titles, categories, file metadata, and app settings. This information is stored locally on your device.

Document payloads are encrypted using AES-256-GCM.

03

Optional iCloud Sync

Sync is optional. If you enable it, document contents and metadata are encrypted before being stored in your private iCloud database. Sync uses the Apple Account configured on your device, and Vault Docs does not receive your Apple Account password.

iCloud and CloudKit are Apple services; they are not operated by kRicha.

04

Usage and diagnostics

The production app uses Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to help understand feature usage, performance, and crashes.

Potential diagnostic information may include app interactions, usage counts, file types, subscription state, device and app information, performance information, crash information, and opaque identifiers.

Designed to stay out of analytics properties

Vault Docs is designed not to send document contents, document titles, file names, search queries, file paths, free-form notes, email addresses, phone numbers, or postal addresses as analytics properties.

05

Advertising and purchases

The free version may display Google AdMob advertising. Depending on your consent, region, and device settings, advertising services may process device identifiers, IP-derived coarse location, advertising interactions, product interactions, device and app information, and related advertising data.

Premium removes in-app advertising. Apple processes subscriptions, purchases, and purchase history through the App Store.

06

Uses of information

Information is used as needed to provide:

  • Document storage, organization, search, protection, export, and optional sync
  • Purchases and Premium access
  • Advertising for eligible free users
  • Usage measurement
  • Reliability and performance improvements
  • Abuse prevention, diagnostics, and support

Vault Docs does not sell document contents.

07

Service providers

  • Apple: App Store, StoreKit, iCloud, CloudKit, and iCloud Keychain
  • Google Firebase: analytics and crash diagnostics
  • Google AdMob: advertising in the free version

These providers operate under their own terms and privacy policies and may process data internationally.

08

Your choices

You can:

  • Enable or disable iCloud Sync in Vault Docs Settings
  • Manage App Tracking Transparency controls in iOS Settings
  • Use available regional advertising privacy and personalization choices
  • Upgrade to Premium to remove ads
  • Export your stored data
  • Clear local app data

09

Retention and deletion

Local documents remain until you delete them, clear app data, or uninstall the app. With iCloud Sync enabled, encrypted copies and deletion changes may synchronize through CloudKit. Turning sync off does not automatically delete existing iCloud copies.

Provider-held analytics, diagnostic, advertising, and purchase information follows Apple’s or Google’s retention settings and policies. Because Vault Docs has no proprietary user account, kRicha may be unable to identify provider-held data from an email address alone.

For privacy requests, email k1ex@proton.me. Do not attach sensitive documents.

10

Security

Vault Docs uses encryption, secure key storage, optional biometric or passcode access, and automatic locking to help protect stored documents.

No system can promise absolute security. You should protect your device, Apple Account, and recovery methods, keep software current, and use a strong device passcode.

11

Children

Vault Docs is not directed to children under 13. The operator does not knowingly request personal information directly from children.

12

Policy changes

This policy may change when the app, its service providers, or legal requirements change. Material updates will be reflected by revising the effective date at the top of this page.
